All apprentice work cards must be submitted monthly per the Department of Labor requirements. These work cards are extremely important. In order to graduate the program, each apprentice must turn in 2,000 work hours for each academic year. Work cards must continue to be turned in until the apprentice has reached the 8,000-hour minimum for the 4-year program. This includes the time worked while they are not attending class. It is possible for an apprentice to finish the education portion of the program without having met the work hour requirements.
To simplify the process, we have transitioned these into an electronic format. The work cards for each apprentice can be found here and also on the Employee Resources page under “Apprentice Info”.
Please keep the following in mind:
- All work cards are due on the 5th of every month for the prior month
- If an apprentice works at your job for a portion of the month, you may submit their hours weekly or when their assignment with you is complete (monthly by due date)
- The form will automatically calculate their total hours for you based on information you enter in the form
- The form is formatted so that the data entered remains in the form until you click “Submit,” which will allow you to fill out hours weekly as long (as you keep browser open)
- Be sure and enter the employee’s hours on the correct week of the work card
